 This satellite is part of the so-called Aten group. It belongs to class Q and moves in a 1:1 orbital resonance with the Earth. This satellite has an elongated elliptical orbit, intersecting the orbits of three planets at once: Venus, Earth and Mars.

Cruithne and Earth seem to follow each other because of a 1:1        Cruithne appears to make a bean-shaped orbit from the perspective of Earth
